What to do with a Saturday morning
One errand, one walk, one unhurried cup. Protect the hours before noon.

Saturday morning is the last uncolonized part of the week, and it is under threat from youth sports, group chats, and the feeling that you should be “getting ahead.” You can get ahead on Sunday. Saturday before noon is for being a person.
A working shape: coffee you sit down with. A walk that is longer than the weekday one, if your body allows it. One errand done slowly — the market, the hardware store, the library — not a circuit of six. Then lunch.
If the morning is already full, steal forty minutes. Do not wait for a blank calendar that will not come.
Phones stay in another room for the coffee, at least. The walk can include a person. The errand can include a conversation with a stranger that goes thirty seconds longer than necessary. That is not “connection” as a goal. It is just not rushing.
The afternoon can be chores, a game, a nap, or nothing. The morning sets the tone. Guard it like a reservation you would not cancel.
